The trophies for the 2024 LAPF Investments Awards have been individually handcrafted by Ronan Halpin.
Ronan attended the National College of Art & Design in Dublin and subsequently attended Yale School of Art, USA, where he received a Masters Degree in sculpture in 1984. The following year he returned to Dublin where he worked for a number of years before moving his studio to Drogheda, Co Louth. In 1998 he moved to the west of Ireland where he now lives, works and runs a gallery with his wife Amanda.
Ronan works mainly with steel, brass and bronze. Examples of his large scale works can be seen throughout Ireland, from the “King & Queen” in Trim Co Meath, to the six metre high sculpture of “Amergin” in Co Kerry. In 2017 Ronan was commissioned by Westport Town Council to create a sculpture to celebrate The Irish Times “Best place to live in Ireland award”. More recently Ronan has been commissioned by the Billingsly Corporation in Dallas, Texas for three large outdoor sculptures including a 12 metre high sculpture “Icarus”.
